John Swinney was today asked if the Scottish Government would release evidence it has kept secret that was handed to an inquiry into Nicola Sturgeon .
The First Minister was pressed on the matter after the Scottish Information Commissioner David Hamilton ordered ministers last month to disclose evidence they gave to the probe arguing to do so would be in the public interest.
Benjamin Harrop, a member of the public who lives in Dumfriesshire, made a freedom of information application to ministers back in April 2021 seeking the details and has since been involved in a long drawn out battle with ministers who have refused to give him the documents.
