LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A person was displaced after a vacant house fire in the Russell neighborhood Monday morning.
Louisville Fire Department responded to 3013 River Park around 1:45 a.m. about a structure fire.
Crews arrived within three minutes and discovered heavy flames coming from a three-story vacant home. Fire officials said strong winds caused the fire to spread to two nearby homes.
It took more than 35 firefighters more than an hour to get the flames under control. Officials said this was due to the fire being fueled by an "active natural gas service."
No injuries were reported, however, a person in one of the nearby homes was displaced. The American Red Cross is helping the person displaced.
Fire officials said the three homes involved had significant damage.
