LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Firefighters were called out to a structure fire Monday in the Russell neighborhood.
Louisville Fire (LFD) said they got the call about the fire at the 3000 block of River Park Drive at 1:45 a.m.
When they arrived three minutes later, firefighters found a heavy fire coming from a vacant three-story building; the fire spread to two nearby homes as well.
Louisville Fire said one of those homes was vacant, but the other was occupied.
Firefighters got the fire under control at 3:13 a.m. and more than 35 firefighters were on the scene. They said the fire was fueled by an active natural gas service.
While one person was displaced, no injuries or rescues were reported, according to LFD.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
