ST. CLOUD, Minn. — A 23-year-old woman is in custody after police say she fatally stabbed her domestic partner in St. Cloud early Monday.

Squads were dispatched to an apartment on the 1200 block of Washington Memorial Drive just after 4 a.m. and found a man suffering from a stab wound. Despite lifesaving efforts the victim was declared dead on the scene.

St. Cloud police say his suspected killer, a 23-year-old woman he was in a relationship with, was immediately taken into custody and is being held pending homicide charges. The department says there is no remaining threat to the public.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until family can be notified. KARE 11 does not release the names of suspects until they are officially charged with a crime.
