Just days after returning to the Soo Greyhounds lineup after missing three games, it appears Brady Martin will take another, more lengthy absence later this week.
On Monday morning, the 18-year-old star centre was among the 27 players officially named to Team Canada’s world junior training camp roster.
Following the Greyhounds’ 7-3 triumph over the visiting Sarnia Sting on Sunday, Martin said he was expecting a call from Hockey Canada later that night to notify him of an invitation.
The Nashville Predators’ fifth-overall pick has five goals and 16 points in 12 games with Sault Ste. Marie since his three-game NHL stint back in October.
Martin is among five players on the camp roster who have made their NHL debuts, along with Braeden Cootes, Jett Luchanko, Michael Misa, and Zayne Parekh
