SAULT STE. MARIE — The Soo Locks Children’s Museum is one step closer to completion after several Upper Peninsula credit unions partnered to donate $50,000 toward a new exhibit focused on financial education.
Soo Co-op Credit Union, U.P. State Credit Union, Tahquamenon Area Credit Union, DeTour-Drummond Community Credit Union, 4Front Credit Union and Limestone Financial Credit Union collaborated on the contribution.
The funds will support an exhibit designed to help children explore money management and learn how credit unions operate.
Lynda Ellis, president and CEO of Soo Co-op Credit Union, said the idea to work together came naturally.
