LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Three people have been arrested after a burglary near the Lenoir County landfill over the weekend.

Just after 10 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office says deputies were called to Hodges Farm Road for a reported burglary.

The person who reported the burglary said a man and woman were seen on the property taking items from a trash dump area.

At the scene, deputies say they found a red truck trying to leave. The sheriff’s office says the driver was detained and an investigation began.

The person who reported the crime arrived at the scene and provided security camera video. In it, the sheriff’s office says the man was seen removing metal and other items from the dump area without permission.

More deputies arrived and helped search for the second suspect. A woman
