The former bassist with Free and the Faces, Tetsu Yamauchi, has died at the age of 79. News of his death was confirmed by his family in a statement, which read: "To all of you who have always supported us. On December 4, Reiwa 7 [The year 2025 in the Japanese calendar], Tetsu Yamauchi passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. We sincerely thank everyone who enjoyed Tetsu's music and offered kind words until now. Those were fun times. It's a long time, but a short time.”

Faces was an English rock band formed in 1969 in London, featuring members such as singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ronnie Wood. Yamauchi replaced Ronnie Lane in the band and stayed with them for two years. The group officially disbanded in 1975.
