HURON COUNTY, Ohio — Just weeks before his trial was scheduled to begin in Huron County, 42-year-old Frederick Reer has now pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the death and disappearance of his girlfriend, Amanda Dean.
Reer, of Townsend Township, pleaded guilty to the following charges Monday:
Involuntary manslaughter, a first-degree felony
Two counts of tampering with evidence, third-degree felonies
Gross abuse of a corpse, a fifth-degree felony
He was indicted on Feb. 9, 2024 after an investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Special Prosecutions Section of the Attorney General’s Office.
