Then officers started asking everyone what country they were from.

People magazine reports that immigrants were pulled from line moments before the ceremony due to their countries of origin. Two days earlier, USCIS had told employees to halt all applications for nationals from 19 countries the Trump administration deemed high-risk — following the killing of a National Guardsman by an Afghan national. 10
