A 37-year-old Guelph man is facing robbery charges after a man had his ring stolen in the lobby of an apartment building.
Police said on Friday, at about 5:35 p.m., a man, in his 30s, was approached by a stranger in his apartment building asking him to hand over his ring. When the victim refused, the other man pulled out a weapon and lunged at him.
After a brief struggle, the victim fell down and the other man ran away. Police found him a short time later after a nearby resident called police to report someone knocking on her door and trying to get into the home.
The man was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court Jan. 16.
