Temperatures stayed below freezing for most of Dec. 5 in Pueblo, but the hot sauces inside PexPeppers' Lake Avenue shop were scorching.

The local hot sauce company, 2705 Lake Ave., had a special visitor that day. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis met with PexPeppers owner Garrett Peck to learn about the business and even sample a few sauces. The governor was accompanied by State Senator Nick Hinrichsen, State Rep. Matt Martinez and a few staffers.
