Some toy writing tablets sold on Amazon have been recalled after being sold for just two months because they pose a danger to children.
The KTEBO brand tablets violate the mandatory rules for toys “because the screw used to secure the battery compartment that contains a button cell battery does not remain attached as required.
“When button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death,” according to an announcement with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recalled 10,380 tablet toys were sold in September and October 2025 on Amazon for between $8 and $30.
