Cops across Ontario have allegedly shattered a violent organized crime ring that had its fingers in the murder, shootings and home invasion pies.

York Regional Police spearheaded the year-long investigation that resulted in 13 arrests and 150 charges. At least half the accused were on the streets on some form of release.

“This group was responsible for violent crimes across Ontario,” YRP Chief Jim McSween alleged at headquarters on Monday.

Also taking part in the province-wide probe were the Peel Regional Police, Toronto Police Service, the OPP and London Police Service. The SQ in Quebec also played a role.

Two suspects are still at large.

“These crimes were brazen and brutal and showed a complete disregard for the value of human life,” McSween said.
