Citilink announced today that it will enhance paratransit service through a new partnership with Via, a nationally experienced provider of specialized transportation operations and technology.
Starting Dec. 15, Via will operate all Citilink Access and Access Plus services for Citilink, a news release said today.
The website accessibility.com said many people who use wheelchairs can benefit from public transportation with options.
With paratransit, eligible individuals are able to reserve cost-effective origin-to-destination complementary service on an as-needed basis. The use typically occurs as long as the origin and destination are within three-quarters of a mile of an existing bus or rail route, the website says.
