A woman is charged after a teenager was struck by a school bus while crossing the street in Aylmer, police say.

A youth was crossing on Dec. 4, last Thursday, at about 8:50 a.m. when a school bus turned from Talbot Street onto Wellington Street, and struck the shoulder of the pedestrian resulting in minor injuries, police in the Elgin County community said.

The youth was taken to hospital as a precaution and was later released, police said.

A 73-year-old Aylmer woman is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield to pedestrians, police said.
