A Dorchester man accused of raping and beating a woman in a Boston apartment in 2024 was sentenced to prison on some of the charges tied to the attack, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Prosecutors say Anthony Dew, 43, lured a woman to his mother's apartment on Evelyn Street on Sept. 8, 2024, and attacked her, raping and strangling her and causing serious injuries.

He was convicted of assault and battery, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and strangulation. He was sentenced to seven and a half to nine years in prison.

Dew was further charged with attempted murder, and rape and assault, but a mistrial was declared for those counts. He is scheduled to appear in court on Ja
