Local authorities reported 11 people were injured after Russian aerial bombs struck residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia on Monday afternoon.
The attack came after Ukraine’s air force said Russia fired 149 drones overnight, with 131 neutralized and 16 others striking their targets.
It follows a Russian attack on Saturday which caused Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to temporarily lose all off-site power, the International Atomic Energy Agency said.
The plant is in an area that has been under Russian control since early in Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine and is not in service, but it needs reliable power to cool its six shutdown reactors and spent fuel, to avoid any catastrophic nuclear incidents.
