A teenager is offering a warning to others after he was severely burned during a bonfire on Thanksgiving

A teenager is speaking out after he was seriously burned while attending a bonfire in Virginia on Thanksgiving.

Garrett Albertson, 17, of Gloucester, said the bonfire quickly grew out of control on Thursday, Nov. 27, as fuel was continually added to the blaze, according to NBC affiliate WAVY .

At one point, the teen told the outlet that a can of accelerant was dropped, which is when he said that “the fire shot out” and "hit" him in the face.
