The cost of a ferry trip is going up again
The price of a ferry ‘cross the Mersey is to go up for the second time in as many years. After no increase since 2022, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA ) and Merseytravel confirmed an increase in the price of a ticket for the Mersey Ferries services.
Last December, the CA announced a “modest” increase in travel prices, upping the cost of a single crossing to £3 from April this year and £4.20 for a return. Now, a further increase is slated to come in from Spring 2026.
In a document released ahead of the final meeting of the year for the Combined Authority on Friday, members will be asked to support plans to implement the cost increase for next year. It said these are based on “a mix of factors including inflation, operating
