LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In the coming months, a wide-open lot in west Louisville will be transformed into a roughly $24 million housing development, Opportunity Village.
The apartments will feature quality finishes, a library and co-office workspaces.
“Opportunity Village [is] 76 permanent, affordable, workforce housing [units] that’s going to be right here on Goodwill’s opportunity campus," said Mark Hohmann, Goodwill Kentucky chief financial officer.
Woda Cooper Companies said the units will serve general-occupancy families, singles and seniors earning incomes up to 80% area median income.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau , Jefferson County's median household income in 2023 was about $65,000. Eighty percent of that was about $52,000.
