The day his wife died, Brian Walshe spent much of the afternoon shopping.

On Jan. 1, 2023, Walshe was seen on surveillance cameras visiting a Walgreens near his home in Cohasset, then a liquor store in Swampscott, then a Lowe’s and a CVS in Danvers, all over the course of about three hours.

On the 6th day of Walshe’s murder trial on Monday morning, jurors saw that surveillance footage, as prosecutors called employees from each store who authenticated the video from the stand.

First up was Patty Patterson, who works at the Walgreens on Chief Justice Cushing Highway. With Patterson on the stand, prosecutors introduced into evidence a receipt of Walshe’s purchases around 3:40 p.m. that afternoon: some anti-itch cream and an antibiotic ointment.
