EUGENE, Ore. - Lane County Sheriff's deputies were busy over the weekend as they responded to multiple rescue calls, including the rescue of a missing elderly woman and several mushroom pickers on Saturday, according to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.

LCSO officials said that deputies located a missing elderly woman on Dec. 6 who was nearly submerged in Kirk Pond, west of Eugene. K9 Buck, an Oregon State Police canine, played a crucial role in finding her. She was treated for hypothermia and taken to a local hospital.

On the evening of Dec. 5, a lost mushroom picker was guided back to safety after becoming disoriented on Siltcoos Trail, south of Florence. Another mushroom picker remains missing as of Monday, with search efforts ongoing in the Sweet Creek Road area, south of Mapleton.
