CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT) - Anderson County commissioners are looking to streamline the permitting process for groups seeking donations at intersections after safety concerns at a busy Clinton Highway location.

Commissioner Chad McNabb said people and organizations have been standing at the intersection of Clinton Highway near Edgemoor Road for years to raise money. The practice has raised safety concerns due to heavy traffic in the area.

“It’s just the groups that are not permitted and that are not following safety precautions that we’re concerned about,” McNabb said.
