LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A woman is dead after a crash on Cane Run Road Monday evening, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of a crash involving a “motor type bike” in the 8000 block of Cane Run Road just after 6 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Early investigation and witness statements show that a woman was wearing dark clothing and riding on what is described as a “motor type bike” without proper safety gear and lights when she was hit from behind by a pickup truck.

Ellis said the driver of the truck quickly stopped, called for assistance and stayed at the scene.

EMS transported the woman to UofL Hospital where she died from her injuries.
