MADISON (WKOW) -- Loved ones and community heroes are being honored this holiday season through a beautiful light display in Madison.

Thousands of lights now are glowing in the Healing Garden at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital.

It's the 19th annual "Lights of Love" event.

Community members purchase the lights as part of a fundraiser, benefiting patient's greatest needs.

Red signifies an appreciation of those who are living, white lights are in memory of those no longer with us and blue honors military members and our healthcare heroes.

"These lights remind us that love endures. They bring comfort to families, strength to patients, and peace to all who see them," Eric Thornton, President of SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, said.
