The Kanawha Valley Collective has been running a warming shelter in Charleston since 2018. This fiscal year, the KVC received $150,000 from the City of Charleston to run both the warming center and cooling centers in the summer.
This year, KVC and the City worked together to help KVC make bulk purchases of blankets, coffee, hand warmers, silverware and other supplies needed to run the warming center.
