Many parts of the UK have been put on alert as Storm Bram hits. A number of amber and yellow weather warnings have been issued across the country, including the North East.

Amber warnings for wind are in place in northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, yellow warnings for rain and wind cover western parts of the UK, including Wales and the North West, as well as the North East, Yorkshire and Humber.

In addition, flood warnings are also in place for a number of rivers. There are warnings for the River Wansbeck near Morpeth and the River Rede near Otterburn, in Northumberland , and for the Upper River Tees between Barnard Castle and Darlington, in County Durham .
