LONGVIEW, Texas — LeTourneau University is mourning the loss of a freshman standout member of its men's soccer team.

Henry Shore, a construction management major who grew up in Longview, passed away over the weekend, the university said in a statement Tuesday.

LeTourneau Athletics said The Division of Student Affairs and Office of Spiritual Life will be setting up a service on campus for the community to pray and honor Shore's life.

He was one of the top freshmen in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2025, earning All-SCAC first team honors and All-Freshman accolades. He led the team with eight goals and was fourth in the conference with 18 total points. Shore was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13 after recording four goals the week prior.
