ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A man set to stand trial in the 2022 deadly stabbing of a woman in Buckhead took a plea deal Monday, nearly three years to the day of her murder.

Antonio Brown was given two consecutive life sentences with the possibility of parole after 60 years.

In December 2022, Eleanor Bowles, 77, was found stabbed to death at her home in a gated Buckhead community.

On Monday, jury selection was set to begin before Brown took the plea deal. He briefly spoke to the courtroom and addressed Bowles’ family.

“I’d just like to apologize about what happened to your mom,” Brown said.
