Donald Trump has lashed out at Sir Sadiq Khan again, linking votes for London's mayor to immigration. The US President described Sir Sadiq as a "disaster" with a "totally different ideology" to that which Mr Trump said he should have.

He told Politico: "And he gets elected because so many people have come in. They vote for him now because you know, it’s like... it’s uh, one of those things. But I hate what’s happened to London , and I hate what’s happened to Paris. I hate when I see it."

His remarks were made in a wide-ranging interview in which the leader of the US berated European counterparts amid wrangling between the United States and Europe over how to end the war in Ukraine .
