Last night's special episode delved into the Driscoll family's mysterious past , as viewers were introduced to Maggie's husband Alan (O'Callaghan) through a series of flashbacks.

While the residents of Weatherfield celebrated the matriarch's 65th birthday at The Rovers, viewers learnt of Maggie's difficult marriage as she struggled to maintain control over her family.
