WASHINGTON — A Virginia animal shelter has raised nearly $170,000 after selling merchandise inspired by the viral drunken raccoon that ransacked a liquor store during Thanksgiving weekend.
The Hanover County Animal Protection & Shelter in Hanover, Virginia, began selling merchandise displaying the "trashed" raccoon passed out beside a bottle of alcohol. As of Tuesday morning, it has raised $169,670.
The animal shelter is selling hoodies, t-shirts, long sleeves and crewneck sweatshirts in different colors. The prices range from $24.99 to $41.99, depending on the style.
The campaign ends on Sunday and has sold more than 15,000 units.
