OMAHA, Neb. —

Tuesday brings a welcome warm up, but it will be short-lived. A cold front arrives Tuesday night and will usher in colder air as the northwest wind ramps up. Omaha's Weather Leader has deemed Wednesday an impact weather day with a wind advisory in effect in the morning.

A wind advisory will be in effect for most of eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. It will be in effect for the Omaha metro from midnight until 8 a.m. Wednesday with wind gusts up to 50 mph possible. Be sure that any holiday decorations are secure.

Some parts of northern Iowa could see brief blizzard conditions with a little snow and wind gusts up to 60 mph possible. Crawford and Carroll Co., IA are under a winter storm watch Wednesday morning.
