ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A man is facing charges of kidnapping and assault after police say he held a woman in the trunk of his car.

According to St. Louis County Police, officers responded to the 8800 block of Torii Drive around 2:15 a.m. Monday after receiving a call from a woman saying she was ‘being held in the trunk of a car.’

According to a probable cause statement, the woman was arguing with a man while the two were driving on I-170. She told police he punched her in the face, giving her a black eye and a large hematoma on her forehead.

She asked him to let her out of the car, but he refused, prompting her to open the door, jump out, and run.

Police say he chased her down, dragged her back to the car, pushed her into the trunk, and drove off.
