More than 40 people have suffered food poisoning after eating a Sunday lunch at a pub in a small Welsh village. On Monday, December 1, the Corner House Inn in Llangynwyd, near Maesteg , said that it would close for a deep clean after a number of people became unwell hours after eating at the pub a day earlier.

Public Health Wales (PHW) have since confirmed 43 people have fallen ill. An investigation found that the illness was caused by a food poisoning organism known as clostridium perfringens.
