State police have no plans to install automated ‘Flock’ license plate reading cameras in Tiverton or Little Compton, though one proposed for Route 24 in Portsmouth is on hold amidst questions of privacy and data safety brought by members of the town council and Rep. Michelle McGaw.
The Rhode Island State Police are rolling out 39 Flock Safety cameras across the state, but Capt. Marc A. Alboum said last week that the Sakonnet area is not on the list — if installed, the Route 24 camera will suffice, he said, adding that the limited number of cameras available would have a greater impact in other areas of the state.
