WASHINGTON — A Grammy-nominated Rhode Island musician was walking his dogs over the weekend when he was hit and killed by a driver with more than 100 previous arrests and dozens of traffic violations, police said.
Roderick Macleod, 70, was a member of the band Roomful of Blues in the 1980s and received a Grammy nomination for his work with the group. He was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
The Hopkinton Police Department said Macleod was walking his dogs on the shoulder of a road when he was hit by a car on Saturday morning. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Authorities identified the driver in the incident as 41-year-old Shannon N. Godbout. Police said Godbout was driving when she left her lane and also struck several objects, in
