A winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 1:40 p.m. valid from Wednesday 10 a.m. until Thursday 10 a.m. for Cambria and Somerset counties.
"Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "Localized snowfall amounts up to 5 inches are possible on the Laurel Mountain ridgetops and summits. Blowing and drifting snow will reduce visibility and result in additional travel impacts."
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes," says the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling."
