A north Manchester school is set to halve its pupil numbers, bosses have told parents.

King David Primary School, off Bury Old Road in Crumpsall, has applied to slash around 200 pupils from classrooms by moving to a single-form entry system. The Jewish school says no current students will be affected, with only future places to be slashed.

School leaders say the decision has been made after seeing a ‘migration of families who support the ethos of King David Primary School away from the Manchester region’ and ‘a nationwide lower birth rate’.
