CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Multiple police departments shared they are receiving reports of scam calls where scammers are impersonating officers.
The Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office shared on social media that a scam call is going around where the caller is impersonating the sheriff stating the person they care calling missed jury duty.
The sheriff’s office also says the person goes on to state “there is a warrant out for your arrest” but can be cleared up if you give them money.
The scam caller then tries to talk you into giving them a form of payment with bank information or gift cards.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office also shared on social media that their office is receiving reports of a scam caller posing as “Captain Bryan Bowen” and also telling people they have a warrant out for
