Former Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers , who retired from the league back in 2021 after 17 seasons, is re-joining the Indianapolis Colts.

After starting quarterback Daniel Jones went down with a season ending achilles tendon tear, the 44-year-old retired quarterback seems to be back in action.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirmed the news, saying he’s signing with their practice squad. This means he’s not currently on the NFL roster. However…he could be pulled up at any moment. Ian shared that he’s being added to the Indiana quarterback room to help support backup QB Riley Leonnard , and, could serve “as a potential option down the road” to start.
