LANSING – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow ranked among the nation's best for maternity care , according to a new report from U.S. News & World Report.

The new report named the Lansing hospital as high performing, the highest ranking U.S. World & News Report gives in procedural rankings.

UM Health-Sparrow's birthing center sees around 3,500 births annually, according to a statement from hospital officials.

According to the U.S. World & News website, the procedures and conditions rating "focus on specific, common procedures and conditions," rather than focusing on complex, challenging cases.

The 2026 report is intendent to "aid parents-to-be" to find the best hospitals for uncomplicated pregnancies.
