Loudoun County deputies had a busy Sunday night after three drivers were arrested for DWI within three hours.
The long night included one deputy who was struck by an allegedly intoxicated driver, another who is a repeat offender, and a third who crashed without a license, officials said.
Deputies were first called around 9:21 p.m. Dec. 7 to Sully Road and Sterling Boulevard, where they found a single-vehicle crash.
Investigators said the driver, Elmer Ochoa Cabrera, 32, of Mount Crawford, was under the influence. He was arrested and charged with:
- Driving while intoxicated: second conviction;
- Driving while intoxicated;
- Driving with a suspended license after a DWI.
Less than two hours later, at 11 p.m., a deputy working an unrelated call on Leesburg Pike at Potomac View Road had their emergency equipment activated when a vehicle struck the deputy’s cruiser.
Additional deputies responded and determined the driver was under the influence.
Officials identified the driver as Michael Reaves, 26, of Sunderland, who was arrested and charged with maiming while driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated.
Minutes later, at 11:17 p.m., deputies responded to the 500 block of Nettle Tree Road for another crash. Investigators said a driver had hit a parked car and was also under the influence.
The driver, Kedin Fuentes Ayala, 33, of Sterling, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving without a license.
Ochoa Cabrera and Reaves were both taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where they are being held without bond. Fuentes Ayala was later released on an unsecured bond.
