The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are coming to Des Moines in May 2027 for a resurgence of a central Iowa air show that was last held in 1991.
Officials from Iowa Air Show Committee, Catch Des Moines, Iowa National Guard, Iowa Air National Guard and Des Moines Airport Authority announced Tuesday, Dec. 9 plans for the Iowa Air Show: Fields of Thunder on May 8 and 9, 2027 that will feature the Blue Angels as headliners both days.
The Blue Angels , the world's oldest active military formation team, demonstrate the flight capabilities of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The team has flown for more than 500 million spectators worldwide since 1946, according to its website.
