There were times during the 2025 high school football season when Palm Desert High School looked like a team led by its offense. It felt like that when the Aztecs scored 50 against Redlands, and again when they dropped 38 against Shadow Hills and 35 against Palm Springs.
But anyone who followed Palm Desert over the second half of the season knows that it was, in reality, the Aztecs' defense, particularly against the run, that gave the team its identity.
