FRANKLINTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man wanted as part of a deadly shooting investigation has shot himself and was rushed to a hospital following a standoff in Granville County.

He later died from his injuries, his family told ABC11.

ABC11 spoke with the suspect's sister. She said her brother, Brad McCurdy, barricaded himself after allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend.

According to McCurdy's sister, the woman died, and her boyfriend was in serious condition.

McCurdy then barricaded himself inside a white Chevrolet Silverado work pickup, where fire department officials say he ultimately shot and killed himself.

The shootings prompted a massive law enforcement presence in a Granville County neighborhood that turned into an hours-long standoff.
