PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Tuesday, Peoria’s City Council is expected to take a look at whether to approve a halfway house on Southwest Adams Street for the second time. Nonprofit Gro Community wants to use a building there for their Reentry Community Housing Initiative.

At a meeting last month, District 3 Council Member Tim Riggenbach moved to defer a decision, saying he wanted to understand the initiative better, and learn more about a nonprofit’s plans for a building he thinks needs renovation. The building has been vacant for around two years.

At-large Council Member Zach Oyler wanted assurances that people living in the house would be from Peoria.
