There's a new drama making a splash on Netflix this Christmas season . Launching with barely a ripple, Ripple (see what we did there) hit the streaming service last week to little hype and fanfare.

But the drama has quietly moved up Netflix' s UK chart, becoming the eighth most-watched title on the platform.

The series stars Frankie Faison ( The Wire ), Julia Chan ( Saving Hope ), and Ian Harding ( Pretty Little Liars ). It follows four New York City strangers whose lives "unexpectedly intertwine in ways that change them forever".

Those who have already tuned into Ripple have been enthralled by the series, which has garnered positive audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and favourable comparisons to This Is Us .
