GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) — Alachua County commissioners approved a controversial housing development that would bring 150 units next to Newnans Lake.
The commission heard a presentation from leaders with the Growth Management Department on Tuesday. Commissioners had the final say on whether the plan complies with the county code.
Christine Berish, the Alachua County development review manager, gave the presentation to commissioners. She said the commission’s approval was required for any plan that would include more than 25 units.
